In an email sent to NWBA churches, Regional Minister, Revd. Phil Jump
has called for a
movement of prayer as many embark on various outreach initiatives.
This is a time of year when holiday club and outreach activities abount, particularly (but not exclusively)
directed at children, families and young people. Emmanuel Baptist Church in Netherton finds itself at the heart of
a community which, according to our Government’s own indices, is recognised as one of the most socio-economically disadvantaged
neighbourhoods in the UK. ,br>
At the end of August they will be working with a number of other partners in a major community initiative.
While being one of many such programmes, this is also a very clear expression of what being in association is all about.
A number of young adults from across NWBA will be participating,
living on the church premises and working as part of the team for the duration of the mission.
This is the latest development in the young leaders’ programme that we have initiated in partnership with Northern Baptist College,
emerging from our annual Impact youth weekend.
As well as celebrating this great piece of mission, local congregations are invited to surround it with a movement of prayer across our region.
Please make this a specific prayer focus in one of your church services before the end of August.
More information is contained in the prayer update which can be
found here.
