Overseas Mission Partnerships

Many of our churches have links with partners in the world church. These are formed through various agencies and connections, but NWBA has developed two in particular which we promote and seek to assist churches in participation. These are with the Hungarian Baptist Union in Eastern Europe and the Greater Gaston Baptist Association in North Carolina, USA.

Hungary Link

The Hungary link has been established for several years now and around 12 churches have direct links with congregations in Hungary. Each partnership is unique but will often involve and exchange of personnel and arranged visits which all involved have found to be of immense benefit. A Hungarian music group will be visiting the church in Millom, West Cumbria in August, and we are expecting another delegation in September working with our church in Hoole, Chester. We also arrange Association wide visits and tours from time to time. Hungarian building teams have also been across and enabled significant building projects at Hawkeshead in Cumbria and Radcliffe in Manchester. Through our Hungarian link we have also been able to forge a partnership between Hungarian Baptists and the Keswick Convention trust, resulting in a major “Keswick” event at Balaton in August 2007. The main speaker will be Luis Palau. If you are interested in knowing more about the Hungary Link or becoming a partner church, please contact the NWBA office.

North American Mission Partnerships

We are also delighted to be developing a partnership with Baptist Christians in Greater Gaston, North Carolina. Many of the churches here are relatively small and have a strong commitment to work with us in facing the challenges of contemporary mission. North Carolina’s most famous Baptist is probably the evangelist Billy Graham, whose ministry and personality have touched Christians across the globe. At present four of our churches are developing partnerships with congregations in Greater Gaston and we are exploring the possibility of some form of major mission initiative together in 2008/9. If you are interested in forming a partnership link in the USA, please contact us.
