From Sunday 17th September to Sunday 24th, a group of NWBA team members will be joined by friends and supporters
from our local churches as they make their way from Liverpool to Burnley along the historic route of the Leeds - Liverpool Canal. Their aim is
to arrive at Burnley in time for our Forum gathering on the afternoon of Sunday 24th.
The canal was once the main artery that connected the various industries of the North West with the port of Liverpool, as well as forging a
connection with the canals of Cheshire and North Wales. The walk will seek to bring together a number of strands of our identity as North West
Baptists, and you are invited to be part of it.
Each evening, we will be arranging a celebration event at the end of our journey. Through these events we will worship and celebrate together as well as
giving focus to the work and witness of local congregations in the area. A group of walkers are bound to attract attention, and we hope through this to share
a little of our story, both as North West Baptists and Christian believers, making the event an act of Gospel witness. We want to encourage local church members
to join us each day, sharing the journey, making friends and enjoying fellowship with other Christian believers. And of course we will be encouraging people to
sponsor the walkers, generating vital resources for Home Mission.
Why not plan to join us for a day of walking, or if you would prefer, find out where the
lunch stop is and offer some support and encouragement to the walkers.
