As an Association, we are committed to the highest standards we can in safeguarding, seeking to ensure that all of our churches and activties provide a safe and suportive space for everyone. We are well supported by our Baptists Together Safeguarding partnership with a raft of resources, training and suitable policies. A key element in making this support accesible to our churches is a safeguarding lead, who can offer advice and guidance when needed.

We are looking to appoint an NWBA team member to provide this support, and to help us work strategically to ensure that this is embedded in our shared life. This will include working with the Regional Ministers to walk alongside churches on those few occasions when a serious safeguarding need arises.

The ideal candidate will be someone with experience of local church life, with a passion to see a healthy and safe environment within those congregations and a degree of professional or voluntary experience working in a safeguarding environment. Our Baptists Together Safeguarding structures are recognised as an example of excellence, and the succesful candidate will be able to access training and support through our National Safeguarding Team.
