Sharing the cost

With one or two obvious exceptions like residentials and conferences, everything we provide for our churches is offered without charge. We are able to do this through the support we receive from Home Mission. In addition, a number of churches make an annual contribution to our work in line with a figure agreed at our Annual General Meeting. You can find our more about how our work is structured through this link.
We remain absolutely committed to this, but where churches are able to meet the costs of work that NWBA team members do for them, this releases more of our finances to be invested in local ministries, pioneers and mission projects. Please never hesitate to seek our help because of the cost to us but if you are able to contribute towards our expenses, it helps everyone. Using BUGB standard stipend as a baseline:
The cost of a 50 mile round trip to visit a church including travel time & mileage is £95.
One trip to Baptist House to represent you at a national meeting is around £120 mileage
The preparation and travel costs of leading a service 30 miles away are around £195
The annual cost of operating our youth and young adults programme is around £145 per member church.
Our team considers it a privlege to serve and support our community of churches and many already give generously through the regular channels highlighted above. All team and volunteer expenses and costs are reimbursed from Association funds. If you are able to contribute towards the costs of giving your church direct support, this benefits the Association as a whole, releasing more funds to support local mission initiatives. But PLEASE do not feel that you have to - we recognise that churches face very different financial circumstances and support us in many different ways.
